A puppy should be fed 4 times a day, with food appropriate for its race and age and with quantities according to its weight. Most quality foods refer to the quantities that the dog has to eat daily so that to have an ideal weight. Your veterinarian can also inform you appropriately.
For a complete and balanced diet we recomend a diet of dry food of the finest quality. Dry food has to be always acompanied with plenty of water. During the first week you can feed the dry food softened with water and mixed with some soft food (can) for puppies.
In small puppies you can mix a teaspoon of honey in their water to avoid hypoglycaemia.
We recomend that you avoid giving the puppy treats between meals. Give it only small quantities for training purposes or as a reward.
Avoid feeding food for human consumption (sweets, milk, dairy products). A puppy older than 2 months has received all necessary quantity of milk from its mother. If considered necessary from your veterinarian there are veterinarian products substitutes for the mother's milk in powder form.
